Speaking of weird timing, I'm listening to Animals right now!
I like 3 Different Pigs and Sheep.

One of their more underrated/underplayed songs is A Great Day For Freedom.

Well, hell. I could listen to Dark Side and Wish You Were Here and think every song was worthy. I don't know if the following are the best, but they're five of my favorites:

    Wish You Were Here
    Comfortably Numb
    Have a Cigar
    Pigs (Three Different Ones)
The Great Gig in the Sky

    Others
    Breathe/On the Run
    Run Like Hell
    Not Now, John
Shine On You Crazy Diamond (both)

Impossible to make such a list. I'm a huge fan of everything through 'The Final Cut.'
I don't have much use for the stuff after that.

    Not ranked in any order:

    'Fearless'
    'Southampton Dock'
    'Bike'
    'Dogs'
    'Careful with that Axe, Eugene'

On any given day, I might come up with an entirely different list.
Possibly with exception of 'Southampton Dock,' which would probably make the list every time.

    Goddamnit, Circus!

I was just going to say it's the five songs on Animals then everything else.

    Big Circus likes this.

    1. Time
    2. Wish You Were Here
    3. On the Turning Away
    4. Brain Damage/Eclipse
    5. The Final Cut (Requiem for a Postwar Dream)

One of my favorite lines to a rock song is in #5:
"i held the blade in trembling hands, prepared to make it but ... just then the phone rang ... i never had the nerve to make the final cut"

I've been playing live Floyd shows on YouTube lately — all of them pre-Dark Side material — so I'll break this up into studio and live cuts.

    Studio
    1. Time
    2. Comfortably Numb
    3. Echoes
    4. Shine On You Crazy Diamond
    5. Sheep (see linked video below ... my favorite mashup of Floyd with the cheesy movie "Black Sheep")

    Live cuts
    1. Careful With That Ax, Eugene
    2. One of These Days
    3. Saucerful of Secrets
    4. Astronomy Domine
    5. Fat Old Sun (an extended version)

And honorable mention for "Lucifer Sam," my favorite Syd song.

Like many have mentioned it's tough to pick just five. Musically you could make a case for about 15 to 20 so my list skews towards ones that I've associated with moments in my life.

    1. Comfortably Numb
    2. One Slip
    3. Young Lust
    4. Wish You Were Here
    5. Fearless

I just play "The Wall," start to finish. It never gets old for me. Great after a rough night at work, too.

    Another undermentioned, underrated song.
