I agree with you technically, but if they changed the list to great catchphrases I'd have no problems with those. And since they were said on tv and you can't deny that they are definitely catchphrases, I don't have much of a problem with their inclusion. It doesn't say best tv show catchphrases.

Phrases that should have made the list:

"Don't have a cow" / "Eat my shorts" - Bart Simpson
"Scotty, beam me up" - Captain James T. Kirk
    "Nanoo-Nanoo" - Mork
"Sit On It ( )" - Happy Days
"We're going to pump <hand-clap> you up" - Saturday Night Live (Hanz and Franz -- Dana Carvey and someone who has never been in my kitchen)
"What's Up Doc" - Bugs Bunny
"Meet George Jetson.... " - Jetsons theme song

    That one is huge.
But here's another 90's classic: Steve Urkel: "Did I do that?"
And, since they have commericals: "Are we there yet?"

Commercials could be their own category.
Can you hear me now? ... unfortunately a catchphrase

  9. spnited

"I'm Chevy Chase and you're not"

    not to mention:

    "Live, from New York ..."

I thought I read somewhere that Shatner never actually said, "Scotty, beam me up," that it was sort of like "Let the games begin" at the Olympics -- a catchphrase that never really existed in its supposed original form. (I know for sure they don't say "Let the games begin," but I'm not sure about the Star Trek example.)

    More missing from the list:

    - "Won't You Be My Neighbor?" - Mr. Rogers
    - "Hey You Guys!!!" - Electric Company opening
    - "High Ho Silver, Away" - the Lone Ranger
    - "That's All Folks!" - Looney Toons
    - "Just the facts, ma'am" - Joe Friday (Dragnet)

and since the door for commercials was open...
    - "We need more Calgon"
