    catch phrase:
    1. a phrase that attracts or is meant to attract attention.
    2. a phrase, as a slogan, that comes to be widely and repeatedly used, often with little of the original meaning remaining.

    If you're going to try and be hip and current with "Welcome to the O.C." and "Denny Crane" then "Seriously" from Grey's Anatomy is far more deserving, especially since more people watch that show than watch four episodes of either The O.C. or Boston Legal. And I hear "Seriously" plenty.

    The hed and lede talks about catch phrases, but the name of the show is Quotes and Catch Phrases, so it doesn't have to be widely and repeatedly used. "You've got spunk" was only used once on MTM.

    "Denny Crane" most definitely deserves its spot on there.

    But I can't believe nobody hasn't popped up with ...
