I want to say Scorpion. But I liked the guy (his ninja brother-dude or something) who threw ice-balls.

Down-towards punch. Down-towards punch. Seventy..... nevermind.

Man, some people have too much time on their hands... the dude who disappeared and reappeared was Smoke.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smoke_(Mortal_Kombat_character)

"Teleport Uppercut: Smoke would go underground and then reappear under the opponent's chin, hitting them on the way. (MK3, UMK3, MKT"

Actually, i was just looking at the same page, and the dude I was thinking of was

    Noob Saibot.

I never, in a million years, would have though of that.

Proximity mines in Goldeneye (Bond for N64)

The super-charged right hook from "Punch Out!"

The power pellets from "Pac-Man" and "Ms. Pac-Man."

    The hammer from "Donkey Kong."

The suckiest weapon? The long bow from "Venture." Does anyone else even remember this game? When you shot the bad creatures, they were still deadly to the touch and you had to wait until they rotted away before they no longer posed a threat. But if you shot their corpses, hoping to speed up the process, it would instead regenerate them to where they had just died and you had to wait even longer for them to disappear.

What? No love for the spray gun in Contra? With that shit, you didn't even need all the extra guys.

I'll second the GTA rocket launcher and add the sniper rifle from that game. I love to sit on top of buildings and take pot shots at pedestrians, it's relaxing.

Not sure if this counts as a weapon, but I don't think any addition impacted a game more than when you acquired this:

    Others to mention:
-As earlier stated, The Spread Gun in Contra
-The tommy gun on Vice City
