If I had to pick a Bush song it would be "Machinehead".

I'll throw out a little love for "In Your Bedroom" by Goldfinger, "You And Me And The Bottle Makes Three" by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, "Time Bomb" by Rancid and "Hell" and "Got My Own Thing Now" by Squirrel Nut Zippers.

"The Man Who Sold The World" - Nirvana ...

is actually a David Bowie song from 1970. Should cover versions, especially ones that aren't that much different from the original, be included on such lists?

Just off the top of my head....
I might change the rank of a few, but these about sum up some of what kicked ass in the 90s for me. There's so much it's hard to choose just 10.
    :)

    1) Black - Pearl jam -

    2) Under the bridge - RHCP

    3) Everlong -- Foo Fighters

    4) Crash into me - Dave Matthews Band

    5) Waiting Room - Fugazi

    6) Self Esteem - Offspring

    7) Sober - Tool

    8) California Love - 2Pac

    9) Change - Blind Melon

    10) Civil War - Guns n' Roses

I'll have to flag Civil War as being pre-1990. They started playing it in 1988 even though the album it's on didn't come out until 1991.

That's my favorite Radiohead song as well. I thought it came out in 2000 though.

I forgot about Tool. Man those first two albums were incredible.

  10. Posting this without looking at anyone else's. I'll try to keep it relatively commercial, or at least limit it to commercial artists and not a bunch of alt-country folkies:

    1. "Remedy" - The Black Crowes
    2. "My Morning Song" - The Black Crowes
    3. "Drown" - Son Volt
    4. "Corduroy" - Pearl Jam
    5. "Sick of Myself" - Matthew Sweet
    6. "Santa Monica" - Everclear
    7. "Outta Mind Outta Site" - Wilco
    8. "Red Mosquito" - Pearl Jam
    9. "Casino Queen" - Wilco
    10. "Teen Angst (What the World Needs Now)" - Cracker

I could fill this with 200 songs, but those are 10 that leap to mind immediately. I would never change the station on any of them. I think "Girlfriend" by Matthew Sweet came out in '89, correct? Or else it would have found a spot.
