    Spent about $350 on vacation in October.

    Will spend about $3,500 on vacation in two weeks ($4,000 counting pet-sitter) . . . and lodging will be free.

    Well you can have inexpensive vacations in major urban centers as well. But that's coming from someone who has a free couch to crash on in most cities I would visit, so that obviously changes things.
