    Sirs, Madames,

I'm amazed that someone else has JL Lewis's Star Club album on the list. In fact I'm amazed someone else has the album.

I should have had Who Live at Leeds in my top 10. I'll bump Gang of Four into the second tier.

    YHS, etc

It should be called the skullfucking of the Beatles because that's essentially what he does on that album. It's probably the only authentic live recording that really gives us a window into the manic energy of early rock 'n' roll concerts.

    In no particular order:

The Gizmos, "Real Rock 'n' Roll Don't Come From New York"

    Zero Boys, "Vicious Circle"

    Digital Underground, "Sex Packets"

    MC5, "Back in the USA"

XTC, "Black Sea" or "Skylarking" (can't pick one, plus, they're very different styles)

    Rush, "Permanent Waves"

Sloan, "Twice Removed" or "Navy Blues" (can't pick one, though they're not terribly different styles)

Wailers, "Burnin'" (or in the best-of category, "The Upsetter Singles, 1970-72)

    Neil Young, "Tonight's the Night"

Dow Jones and the Industrials, "Album"

I left out Midnight Oil's "10, 9, 8..." and Eno's "Another Green World" because they had already been mentioned. Also, for best-ofs, I would say Desmond Dekker's "Rudy Got Soul: The Complete Early Years 1963-68)" and a soundtrack that's a reggae best-of, "The Harder They Come."

Am I the only one who likes "... And Justice For All" more? Seems that way.

" . . . And Justice for All" has some great tunes - especially the first and last songs - but the title track and the instrumental are a little too repetitive for it to be better than Master of Puppets, which to me represents a young band at its creative apex.

But yeah, Justice is a great record too.

While a bunch of my more mainstream albums overlap, I get the sense that I have very different different musical tastes here. I enjoy seeing people adding bands like XTC and Crowded House. I have heard very little of music, but what I hear, I always think in some other life I would head in that direction. As for the direction I went:

    In no particular order:
    Grateful Dead. American Beauty.
    U2. Joshua Tree.
    GNR. Appetite for Destruction.
    Phish. Rift.
    Rusted Root. Cruel Sun.
    Paul Simon. Graceland.
    The Beatles. Abbey Road.
    Bob Dylan. Blonde on Blonde.
    Blues Traveler. Save His Soul.
Medeski, Martin & Wood. It's a Jungle in Here.
Honorable mention: Change of Worlds, Ti-Ti Chickapea.

Crowded House's debut would certainly merit an honourable mention on my list.
