I actually prefer watching the Olympics in other countries because they seem more interesting. Hard to believe there will be at least an 20 year gap between US Olympics. Longest drought in Olympic history.

For the previous hundred years, we had all the world's money. We don't anymore.

Washington D.C.'s making a pitch, right?

Which would give us some of the Olympic games in Richmond.

It's refreshing to see the IOC get away from it's policy of giving the Games to the candidate city least-prepared to host.

How in the world would Havana be able to whip together the kind of infrastructure to host an Olympics, even 10 years after Communism fell? You people are crazy. Look at how much money China spent on the Olympics, both in building shit and bribing people. Now start there. Cuba doesn't even have. The money for the bribes.

The Olympics can stay the hell away from the US forever, for all I care. Spending $40-50 million of Federal money to upgrade the Utard's football stadium simply for some stupid opening and closing ceremony (and forget about the other infrastructure improvements Utah got for free, courtesy of Uncle Sam) was a complete bilk of the US taxpayer.

If Havana was to flip quickly to full-fledged capitalism, it becomes Las Vegas and. Disneyland put together, x 100.

Cuba ain't getting its shit together anytime soon. And the IOC frowns on multi-nation Olympics. They need one central government to shoulder the load --- financially and otherwise.

2024 should be in Europe and there is never a shortage of European candidates. Then we can consider 2028 somewhere in the Americas .... whoever is left standing after WWIII.

0% chance of that happening. Which is good, because that's the worst idea ever formulated by a human.
