    Two of my faves, one current and one from my checkered past, on the same day.

    Happy 74th to Frank Howard. Hondo. I'd still be comfortable with him in the Nats lineup.

    Happy 29th to Mr. Cardigan, Roger Federer, one of the few tennis players I'll turn on the TV to watch.


    Ken Dryden is 63 today.

    Of all the people I have dealt with in my professional career, Hondo is one of my favorites. A great old-school baseball guys with great stories to tell.
    He also smoked some of the biggest cigars I have ever seen.
