    9-man is played on the same field. Honestly, you don't notice the difference much. Teams tend to use just one receiver and a five-man line (including the tight end).

    When I was in Iowa, 8-man was 80 yard field and a little more narrow. Everything is either a -4 or 60-yard play.
    Stat keeping is a bear, and the trek to these remote outposts was torture but all-around it was one of my favorite things to cover.

    Yeah. 80 yard field is essentially the only difference.
