Today is allegedly layoff day at my shop

    I feel better about sportschick's predicament, knowing she has a plan in place.

    It still sucks but this girl will land on her feet ... with 10s across the judges' panel.

    Well, at this point, I know nothing. No call, so I guess I'm still employed, for the moment. Although I do get yet another pay cut. yippeee.

    Eh, I think almost everybody on this board is probably in a less than ideal situation right now. This industry is horrendous.

    I'm in a shop that suffered layoffs today and anybody who didn't think they could be among the cuts was fooling themselves. My wife and I are lucky in that all we got were pay cuts, and I just feel terrible right now for the ones here and throughout the McClatchy chain. The ones who lost their jobs deserve a lot better than this.
