    This shows it better.

Sheriff's Department SUV strikes woman at Stephon Clark vigil

The vehicle that hit her is the second one in the procession. The lead car continues to crawl along, and the driver of the second car just floors it and hits the woman, then slows down again because the lead car is still there and he’s going to hit that car if he keeps flooring it.

That part must have been edited for length out of the official statement.

Two people are laying on the ground in a hotel hallway.

“Alright, if you make another mistake, there is a very severe possibility you are both going to get shot, do you understand?”

    Officer, kindly get fucked.

Another example of a racist asshole who thinks when the cops shoot an unarmed black person, there must be a good reason.
Another time he said "If you're holding a book and a cop tells you to drop the gun, put down the book."
Really? You can't let them know it's a book? Why wouldn't that work?
His idea to prove that the Sacramento cops were justified is stupid and wouldn't prove anything.
He also had no problem with the Bundys, who really were pointing guns at law enforcement officers.

You're kinda evading that poster's actual question. It was not "what does he believe?" as much as "why should we care?"

There are countless racist assholes out there, but we're not repeatedly shown the tweets of each. What makes this one worthy of our attention?

‘I can’t breathe’: Asheville police video shows white officer beating, choking black jaywalking suspect

The cop resigned (before he was fired) and is going on trial on felony charges. It’s pretty ugly, but I’m sure he will be acquitted. After all, think of how many people this guy could have killed with his jaywalking.

Ruggiero asks Rush to look at him, but Rush says he can hear him just fine. Hickman chimes in to say, “Just write him a ticket. He wants to act like a punk.”

In a moment though, Hickman changes his mind. After Rush remarks that the cops apparently have nothing better to do than harass someone about walking, Hickman darts toward him, telling him to put his hands behind his back. When Hickman tries to grab him, Rush backs away — then starts running. He crosses the street, then apparently decides to stop fleeing as Hickman and Ruggiero approach.

“He thinks it’s funny,” Hickman says. “You know what’s funny is you’re gonna get f‑‑‑ed up hardcore. Get on the ground.”

One of the most important aspects of this story, which The Post doing drive-by out-of-town journalism almost totally misses, is that the video and subsequent fallout only became public because someone with access leaked one officer's video to the Asheville Citizen-Times. That was after the officer resigned, but everything was kept quiet.

The city manager and city council didn't even know about it until it was published in the newspaper. North Carolina law exempts police body camera from public records law, but does allow its release under court order. Nobody knew to even ask a court for this video before it gets leaked to the press.

Before the video got leaked, the state bureau of investigation declined to investigate the officer and no charges were filed in seven months following the incident.

After the video got leaked, everyone was falling all over themselves to denounce the officers actions and suddenly charges get filed. After the initial video is leaked, people are able to use the legal process to get the rest of it released.

The Citizen-Times primary reporter on this, Joel Burgess, really deserves a lot of credit for bringing this to light.

This whole story just highlights to me the fundamental importance of these videos being accessible, and in many states they're being closed off.

Addendum: Jaywalking isn't even a crime under state law in North Carolina. It's only a crime in specific cities that have local ordinances prohibiting it, which Asheville has. That's important because it makes it the lowest level crime possible. It's akin to fishing without a license. Or letting your tags expire.
