And in a major news flash, Starbucks apparently sells decaffeinated coffee. Had no idea.

    Four hundred million bucks? Seriously?

Sounds like a pretty smart move. I didn't know people drank decaf at all, much less after lunch.

Who drinks decaf in the morning? I would think more people would drink it at night.

That's actually a very smart move. We wasted SO much decaf coffee, especially after the lunch period time, in all the stores I worked in. It was ridiculous.

I wonder when they'll crack down on their baristas wasting milk though...

Who would go to Starbucks for decaf?

That seriously makes no sense to me.

    That's what I was thinking.

Caffeine has no outward effect on me. I can drink a lot of coffee/tea/soda and go to sleep immediately. I sometimes get decaf to cut down on the amount of caffeine I consume. I often get decaf from Starbucks on the afternoon, so this news might change my habits.

I understand the big cut they're making is cutting shift supervisor hours down to 25, from 40. So says a friend of mine and a former barista/manager. Maybe ducky or another ex-Starbucksian can elaborate.

Somewhere, Peter King became very angry and has no idea why.
And Boom got very, very happy, all in anticipation of the next MMQB.

That's horrible for the SS's if it's true. I haven't heard such things, but I've been out of touch with my former coworkers for a while.

Who's the Six-Sigma who thought of this one?

This is being blown out of proportion. This simply means they're going to brew it to order, not stop offering it.
It's quite simply an issue of supply and demand and in the end, folks who drink decaf are going to end up getting fresher coffee.

Lots of places do this...I'm not sure why this is even news.
