As a true lover of the disco genre, this is major news.

    (A1 debate? :). )

So much of disco came from one hit wonders and producers swapping singers in and out.

For disco, it is Donna Summer and KC & The Sunshine Band. Otherwise, you have anonymous one hit wonders and established artists (Stones/Rod Stewart) who had a disco phase.

    RIP to a legend.

I heard Last Dance on the way in, and I forgot how epically long that song is.

But what a voice. So damn smooth.

Someone left the cake out in the rain.

MacArthur Park by Donna Summer > MacArthur Park by Richard Harris.

Love To Love You Baby is very, very high on the list of most erotic/pornographic songs to hit the charts. Strike that. It's No. 1 on the list.

    Here's the -- holy shit -- 17-minute version.

I Feel Love is also awesome.

    RIP.

Maybe there will be a "Heaven Knows" reference or two ...

Where do the Bee Gees fit in this?

    There Goes My Baby. RIP.

From about 1977 to 1980 there was no female solo vocalist bigger than Donna Summer. Four No. 1 singles. Streisand only had three No. 1's during this three-year period, and one of those was a duet with Summer ("Enough Is Enough.") Diana Ross was mostly AWOL during this period until "Upside Down" in 1980.

On the plus side, she no longer has to work hard for her money.
