Sorry Wicked but there's no way Bo would be playing at 44 if he had a full career in both sports. None. Barry Bonds has used every drug known to man and he's barely upright at 43. Bo playing both sports? He'd be in a wheelchair by now.

He was an awesome fucking athlete though. Burnt out fast but boy did he burn.

It was an SI cover story.
If anyone could make a comeback at 48, Jim Brown could have done it.
I saw him in NYC in 1991 and he is the largest man I have ever seen. I'm talking pure girth, solid, like an oak tree trunk.
I can't comprehend what he must have been like to tackle in his prime.

SNL even chided Brown with a nice little skit during a Weekend Update. Eddie Murphy as Brown said there were yards unaccounted for - and then they showed the clip of him in The Dirty Dozen when he's running under a hail of bullets.

As others have said, that was due to Harris, not Payton. He even engaged in a silly pay-per-view race against Harris, but I believe Brown pulled a quad or a hammy during the race.

Nicely done...to you both. I could see the picture in my mind, but couldn't remember for sure if it was SI.

And I wasn't criticizing Harris earlier. I'm far too much of a Steelers fanboy for that. Just paraphrasing what Brown said.

    Yawn.

Show me all the great passes Brown threw.

Show me all those first-rate receptions Brown made.

Show me the consistent dedication to blocking Brown displayed.

    Go ahead . . . I have all day.

If I HAD to have two yards, Brown gets the call.

But I want Walter Payton on my football TEAM.
