I think one of mine are coming through. This sucks.

Working on scheduling an appointment with a dentist.

Any words of wisdom with this nonsense?

    Get 'em removed.

I had all 4 cut out my senior year in high school. It's not nearly as bad as you imagine. They numb your mouth, then knock you out with an IV drip, you wake up, and it's over.

Then you get to eat pudding as a meal for a couple of days.

If they aren't messing up your mouth and pushing other teeth out of whack. I'd leave em until they start getting cavitites.

One problem when they pull them is that they can bang or permanently injure the nerve that runs under the gum . They will harp on this before they yank it.

Considering eating normal food is a pain in the ass, err, tooth right now, I don't care what they say I have to eat after the fact ... just make the pain stop the way Advil won't.

Why do wisdom teeth coming through hurt any more than any other tooth?

Research says some jaws are too small to fit those last teeth, so they come in crooked or partially.

You'd figure that wisdom teeth would smart more than the others.

    Re: Wisdom teeth

I've had three of the four (one hasn't grown in yet) removed. Two of those three were impacted. I opted for novocaine and laughing gas. It was OK. Most of the lingering pain and soreness came from them having to hinge my jaw open so wide that it looked like I was hit in the face by a 2x4. Of course, the first time, he didn't remove all of the tooth, so the wound wouldn't close. Six days later, I went back, he flushed it out, and I spit out a huge chunk of tooth. One hour later, the wound closed. But you may get Vicodin out of it, so it's not all bad. Good luck.
