    When I was in HS, our girls basketball team had several girls on the volleyball team. Our volleyball team usually sucked, but those girls either missed the first week or so of basketball or played/practiced when available.

    Football and basketball were the same way. Our school had a damn good football program and a pretty solid basketball program. If the football team made it past the third round -- which it did with regularity -- then several guys weren't at the first game or two.

    Pretty much everything overlaps now. Girls sports, boys sports, fall sports, spring sports...everything. It's a pain in the ass.
