Screw the rent, unless they ask. Save your money and tell them you are investing. Help out other ways by cutting the lawn and cooking dinner. And yeah don't bring too many ladies home.

I lived at home for a year after college. Was working 30 minutes away, and it just made sense. I hardly ever saw them because of differing work schedules, but I think my Dad had the most trouble with it. He just never quite got a hang of me leaving the house to go cover something on Saturday mornings, instead of working in the yard.

Anyway, I'm 22. I live with my parents. Whatever. I moved out for college, and then got a job in the same town and lived away for 4.5 years. Now I'm living at home saving my money. My brother didn't move out until he was 25. I definitely don't plan staying that long, but I'm also not living paycheck to paycheck by renting an apartment 10 minutes from my hometown. My parents agree that would be pretty dumb. We get along enough to make it work, so it isn't a problem. The biggest bitch is having to come home late after the bar. When I was strolling in at 3 am in college no one cared, now I get the evil eye the next morning, and end up feeling bad. That leads me to cutting the lawn, or pulling weeds, so I don't feel like a degenerate.

My dad doesn't understand why I don't help him cut the lawn on Saturday morning when I work till sometimes as late as 6am. I tell him I'll cut it in the afternoon, and he will say "well son, you're already up."

Yeah, dad because you are running the fucking lawnmower.
