    It has?

Man, I'm missing out. What does it mean now? Or has it just become worse to call someone that?

It became jail slang for pedophile, and now that definition is becoming mainstream. At least in Ontario and other parts of Canada, at least.

Wow. This is definitely my "you learn something new every day" moment.

I will make sure to avoid that word from now on. I wouldn't be surprised to know I've said it (innocuously, I thought) in the past year.

  4. I think that's because pedophiles are so common in Canada.

I don't think that meaning of goof has yet crossed the border of the lower 48.

I know. I'm finding it hard to believe myself, but I have three teenaged sons and they all tell me it's definitely a word that, if you use it at their high school, somebody's going to come at you. And it's true of other places as well, supposedly.

    You'd be surprised.

Oh, you're such a goof. Of course, in Canada, it's "gouf"

Double J, I didn't know that either. It was used pretty commonly when I was high school some 30 years ago.

I think it's pretty much time to ban all words.

The other day on Google+ I posted an album of my 23-month old entitled "Goofin'"

Um, whoops, I guess. Somehow I don't see the new meaning really caching on.

Something always bothered me about that man-dog on Disney....now I know why.
