Last Sunday, Phillies fans were "treated" to the Kalas clan in the booth -- Harry, sons Todd, Brad and Kane (Kane Kalas, strong porn name potential). Thank God it was only one inning, but it proved the theory talent is not genetic.

Buck, Schaap, Carey... All of them are living off daddy's coat tails. Even Kalas' kid to a certain extent but he's actually pretty good and he has paid some dues. It's time people stop fawning over them.

  4. Thom Brennaman, son of Hall-of-Famer Marty, does a pretty good job.

    Joe Buck must go!

Besides, the guy doesn't find Curb Your Enthusiasm funny (or was it that he said he doesn't get it, one or the other). Either way, he sucks. He should thank his daddy every day for the nice car and house he has. Not to mention his jobs.

While we're at it, sack Greg Gumbel, too. Give me Bryant any day.

    Chip Caray? Gone!

    Skip Caray? Gone!

Kenny Albert? Not sure; haven't heard him enough.

    Damn nepotism.

    Couldn't agree less. He's a hack, too.

Jack, Chip and Thom should be consigned to Pirates/Royals games.

Say what you will about Joe Buck, but the Budweiser commercial with his dad that played on Father's Day was one of the coolest commercials I have seen.

Sorry, but I'm a big fan of Skip Carey. Chip, Thom and Joe are basic.

  9. You weren't alone.

He just sounds bored. And if you're in a position where you have the game on but can't be watching the screen, he doesn't give you an idea of what's really going on. He comments about the game, he doesn't call it.

I liked Skip Carey better when the Braves were terrible and he needed his dry wit to keep his sanity.

Since they've gotten good he's becom emuch more of a homer.

    ditto.

I remember watching a Giants-Braves game one night, ATL up like 8-3 or something like that, 1 out in the 9th..........Jeffrey Leonard at the plate......runner on 1st........Caray blurts out, "And we'll get you to our TBS Friday Night Movie just as soon as Leonard hits into a 6-4-3 double play........"

    NEXT PITCH

    6-4-3

    Hilarious

    Dooley, you're a smart guy.

My favorite Skip line is -- and I've probably told this story before -- during the middle of another Braves' defeat in another 100-loss season during the mid-1980s, he would come back from commercial with, "And now we've reached the bottom of another fifth." ;D
