    It was a joke, Simon. I usually disagreed with your assessment but the last few times we had the discussion here you were swaying me with some of your points. Sorry if it sounded crass or insulting.

    Might have had a plane to catch. Might have been trying to catch a sale. Could be anything.

    Probably a bit early to speculate about possible career-ending injuries, at least until we know the nature of the damage.

    That story also says he was treated for facial lacerations. Hopefully that's the extent of the serious injuries.

    Still it doesn't sound like he would even have time to get up to 30 mph. he backs into a fire hydrant and then drives into neighbor's tree. I just dont see him going that fast. Maybe the tree -- a low lying branch for example -- came through the windshield or something.

    Let's assume the FHP is telling the truth and alcohol is not a factor.

    Are drugs? Sorry to ask, but 2:33 a.m.? We'd certainly speculate or wonder if it was anyone else.
