    Giants owned NY early in the 20th century before the Yankees got Ruth. Didn't lose 100 in a season till 1985. But the Angels, although they didn't start play till '61, are part of the original 16 and have never lost 100.

    EDIT: I stand corrected. Angels, Senators, Mets and Astros took baseball from 16 to 20 in 1961. So the answer I think would be Giants.

    Each had the first base hit in the New York Mets' two new balllparks.

    Willie Stargell homered for the first hit at Shea Stadium. Jody Gerut homered for the first hit in Citi Field.
