I have no idea what Jacksonville State's summer workout schedule is. I have no idea what the work ethics of the guy were. I'm guessing JSU probably didn't have anything scheduled for Sunday, but I might be wrong. Could be the team had the weekend off and everyone scattered.
I highly doubt, if they had a workout or some activity scheduled for early Sunday, he would've been in Auburn at midnight Saturday. Even if there was, it's only a couple hours' drive. Easy enough for someone at Auburn to call and say, "Hey, whatcha doing? We're having a party tonight. You should come."
By all accounts, none of these guys (except maybe Pitts, the third guy who was killed, who escalated the fight by smacking someone over the head with a bottle) did nothing wrong other than showing up at the wrong party and walking into the path of a bullet. You can't expect 20-year-old college students to sit in their rooms with a book in front of their face 24/7.

It's June. School's out. This happened on a weekend night. Unless Jacksonville State had some kind of mandatory off-season workouts he was supposed to be at, who knows why he was in Auburn? Like Batman said he could have gotten a call and gone to visit friends.

Sounds like someone called 911 to report the suspect was in their house attic. There is someone in the house attic but the police do not know if it is the suspect. The person who called in the tip is now being "interrogated" according to the reporter on WSFA. A police spokesman has said that if the tip turns out to not be credible the tipster could face charges.

Yeah, watched almost all seven hours of live coverage. Bullet points.

- ID'd as suspect by house renter and "a credible source."
- House suspect is reportedly in is about three miles from last known address of suspect.
- Authorities used flash bangs.
- Authorities used tear gas twice in the attic, heard coughing.
- Authorities heard breathing, also used thermal imaging and say there's a person up there.
- Authorities used long poles with hooks to poke and prod up into the attic.
- Last sounds heard from up in the attic were roughly four hours into standoff.
- Several times authorities reiterated they would press charges against anyone giving false info.
- When live coverage ended, authorities were talking about surrounding house waiting till morning.
- Auburn press conference at 8 or 9 a.m. on Tuesday.

Watched is probably the wrong word. Had it on in the background and tuned in when they had hourly (or so) updates from the mayor or task force leaders. Helps when you've got beer in front of you and your day is pretty much done, too.
