I usually say happy holidays. It covers Christmas and New Year's.

If people don't like it -- fuck 'em.

I usually say, "Have a good holiday." They can choose which one to enjoy. But only one.

I guess I can't put the sarcasm font on a thread title since it's already blue. :)

Re: Enough of the PC "Happy Holidays" stuff!

I went to a pageant for my six-year-old nephew last week. When we arrived at the school, I asked the lady at the door, "Is this where the Christmas pageant is?"

I was quickly rebuffed and told, "No, this is where the winter pageant is..."

No song made any reference to Christmas, Hannukah or any holiday. They were all stupid songs about nothing, none of which I had ever heard of. No Jingle Bells, No Deck the Halls, No Dreidel, Dreidel, apparently Frosty the Snowman also has a Santa reference, which I was also not aware of...

At the reception afterwards, the people there were completely irate. I think in most situations, 99 percent don't mind acknowledging the nation's biggest holiday, but there's always some uppity douche who ruins it for everyone else...

I agree. Too many people are way to sensitive over issues that really aren't that big.

This is the thread I started last year.
Mystery Meat's post made more sense than anything else I've ever heard or read about the issue, if it really is an issue.

This really isn't on topic, but I was thinking that maybe if the "winter pageants" combined Hanukkah and Christmas songs, everything would be kosher.

Then I remembered this video from South Park:
