Folks, you have got to start reading between the lines. This column was a message from the conventional wisdom and the Establishment for which it stands. Whatever happens on Nov. 7, the caregivers are coming to take W's toys away and put him down for a two-year nap.

You know what's interesting? Even though that column is behind the impenetrable walls of the Times Select service, it's still the most emailed story in the Times today. I've never seen, since they introduced Times Select, a for-pay column make it to the top of the charts. Must really have surprised some people.
