(And I've lost track of the number of music scholarships missed because I failed to mention the tremendous baritone sax section.)

From Friday night in Kansas eight-man football:
    Hartford 100, Maranatha Academy 58.

Harford’s Shayden Sull rushed for 494 yards and 12 touchdowns. He rushed for 1,547 yards and 21 touchdowns last season.

Not exactly Plano East vs. John Tyler but still pretty cool.

The announcers sure love saying "West Virginia commit" ...

    But nobody wet their britches.

    So that's how Hamilton ends?

Bishop Gorman's kickoff return team will be running laps until they're 65. The first one was a muff but everybody knew the second one was coming and basically got knocked on their keisters.

Down in Mississippi, there's a private school called Greenville Christian that became a state powerhouse literally overnight in 2020. A bunch of public high schools in the Delta canceled their seasons because of COVID, so a couple dozen kids that wanted to play transferred to this tiny Class 3A private school. Most of the players were starters on their various teams, so it turned Greenville Christian into a regional all-star team. They crushed everybody on the schedule in 2020, and this year have already beaten a couple of the big-time private school powers.

This all-Black team in Mississippi's private academy league is making history

They also hastily arranged a game with Oak Grove, the reigning MHSAA (public school; the public and private schools have two different associations) Class 6A champion and No. 1 ranked team in the state. They played Friday night and Greenville Christian took its 30 or so players down there and won 48-41.
