Louisiana coach fired after leading his team to the state championship game for, among other reasons, not keeping games close enough. School administrators forced him to sign a contract at midseason stating he would keep games within 14 points.

So now we're mandating point shaving. Okay.

Bad play. He should’ve quit on the spot in midseason and made a copy of this contract for the media to back up his story.

8-man playoff game out here last night.

    Wichita County 88-Victoria 66

End of FIRST quarter; Wichita County 40- Victoria 30
HALFTIME: Wichita County 60- Victoria 60

Why does an 0-9 team qualify for the state quarterfinals? Because, according to the SDHSAA site, there are only eight 11-man teams at Class 11AA, which means like Oprah, everyone gets a berth!

That's two fewer schools than the highest level, Class 11AAA. And add 15 more at Class 11A. I'm not surprised that South Dakota has that few 11-man teams. I'm just stunned that they'd make the bottom feeders get beat up a second time, since Spearfish had already lost to the No. 1 seed by a score of 73-0 or something during the regular season.

    That's crazy.

Sounds almost normal for most eight-man games I've been to.

Every school in Indiana qualifies for the playoffs.
