This time it counts, but should it?

    Della's right. It's odd how the All-Star Game MVP in this sport — and this sport alone — is historically such a big name. There's no reason that Hall of Famers should dominate the voting, since so many players get in the game and have a chance to do something big.

    Can't really think of a truly controversial (absurd) pick for All-Star MVP, either, at least off the top of my head. Generally, the guys who win the MVP do have at least one memorable hit or, more likely, extra-base hit. They just happen to be Hall of Famers, most of the time.
