This quote made me laugh out loud. Does that make me a bad person?

Okay this didn't seem SERIOUS or PROFESSIONAL enough for the J board, just wanted to share it with you guys because it made me laugh. Although if anyone feels like moving it, I couldn't care less.
But I was talking to a kid today from the local summer league team. They just lit up one of the best pitchers in the league (entered the game with a 0.84 ERA), so he's talking about their offense.
    And he deadpans...
"Hitting is contagious...just like AIDS" (someone back in the office cracked that this should be my lede.)
Also, this exchange talking about a HR:
"Just hit it over the fence, that's what all the cool guys do."
"Yeah, chicks did the long ball."
"Chicks dig a lot of things."

Ask someone with HIV if he thinks it's funny.

I would have been laughing all the way home, during every phone call I made and before I went to sleep.

I have serious problems with this outlook. All the time.

If I ever, God forbid, get cancer, I won't be happy I have it. But I won't be on a crusade to eliminate all dark humor about it.

I am admittedly overly sensitive to the topic as I lost a relative to it a few years back.

But I also think a little more compassion in general isn't necessarily a bad thing. I work with a woman who has Tourette's Syndrome. Another woman in the newsroom goes by "Touretta Lynn" as her stage name in a non-serious sports-related venture she is involved in. I agree it's a mildly amusing play on words, however, I told her I thought it was in bad taste, particularly since one of our colleagues has to live with it.

Right or wrong call to say something to "Touretta?"

Is she in roller derby? Because I wouldn't mess with those women.

Name some things JDV would say if he played baseball.
