How could you forget the colonoscopy?

I commented to a student that an entire bag of Lay's potato chips (the $3.69 pounder) as her only lunch item might have been a bad idea.

Her mom then bitched out my boss.

Mind you, I was her fifth-grade teacher, and her mom wondered why her daughter was picked on and bullied.

You only pay attention when she eats the whole bag.

I am by no means an expert on the subject, but I tend to think telling people what to do with THEIR kids is something I should stay away from.

When I taught elementary, if I thought a kid was doing something I thought they were not allowed (bringing a full bag of chips for lunch, spending the entire lunch money on the candy machine, goofing off during the Pledge) I let the parents know.

You have to at that level.

Seeing as I will be an elementary school teacher in a few years. Thanks for the tip :)

Just tell the parent in an email.

99% of the parent will appreciate it.

    The other 1%? Fuck em.

That makes sense. As much as I hate to admit it my brother is probably one of the people who is annoying as all hell sensitive when people tell him his son shouldn't do certain things.

Just don't let it get under your skin.

You will help a lot of kids. Some just won't take the help right away.
