This latest Michael Vick situation will not end well.

According to AP, authorities are in no rush to make a decision on charges:

If it had been a 40-year-old non-famous anybody he would never have been allowed through security. But if he was a 9-year-old runaway he would have been escorted to seat in first class.

I guess he was using something like this:

They confiscated my water bottle this summer, and they wouldn't allow me to carry my Starbucks onto the plane. TSA was confiscating all liquids and gels recently. Why did Micahel Vick think he was immune to the rules a 40 yearold nonfamous whiteguy must follow?

My question: what does that cut-off sign to the right say? The one that says FRE RI. I'm going to go ahead and guess "FREE MOUSTACHE RIDES HERE"

the way the story reads, the exchange went something like this ...

TSA screener: Sir, you can't take that on the plane.
Passenger: Well, I'm thirsty and I'm not through with it.
TSA screener: I understand, but you cannot take it on the plane.
Passenger: OK. (throws it away and gets on the plane)

That's enough to arouse suspicion? Or were they suspicious because he's black and he's famous? I know it's their job to be suspcious, but come on. I'm no Vick apologist; he absolutely seems to be hellbent for trouble. But from what I read here, this seems shaky.

Probably not, though they should be when anybody acts suspiciously. And he's not nonfamous (I'm not getting into another race thing). He gets extra scrutiny. Comes with the job and the huge paycheck. Don't like it? Don't be dumb enough to carry something illegal into an airport.

It's hard to know, from reading the story, if what was described as hesitation played out like this.

Al Davis just woke up from his nap and had a dream of Vick throwing to Moss, stirring up memories of Stabler to Branch.
