The SWAC championship game at that. NO PHOTOS!! or anything!!

As much as I hate the Arkansas Democrat they would have given the tournament much more coverage than this.

There might be a little more going on in Dallas this time of year.

I was hoping for an America East photo, but the DMN let me down.

Yeah. It is the CHAMPIONSHIP GAME and the tournament is in the area. SWAC fans care just as much about fan bases from other universities. I just don't understand the slight!

SWAC fans try just as hard as everybody else!
To help you understand "the slight," allow me to point out a few things:
    1) Texas, which has a fan base roughly 10 times larger than all of the SWAC schools put together, was playing for the Big 12 championship on the same night.
    2) There were some high school basketball championship games, apparently involving Dallas-area teams, on the same night.
    3) The Mavericks were home against the Lakers, a game attended by nearly 21,000 people -- probably the same amount that attended the seven games of the SWAC tournament combined (and that's probably being generous to the SWAC).
    4) The SWAC championship game pitted a team from Alabama against a team from Louisiana. The fact that there was even a staff-written story should make SWAC fans ecstatic.

What fan bases do SWAC fans care just as much about, then? Do tell.

I thought someone was bumping up the thread from football season.

    This.

And as an addendum to No. 4, the fans from Alabama and Louisiana are most likely to buy the Sunday paper off the rack (unless its at the door of their hotel room), and that's it. Longhorns, preps and Mavs are of greater interest to the DMN's core audience than out-of-Texas SWAC teams.
