    I think that Harper High would celebrate if bad grammar from the prinicipal was its biggest problem.

    That's an interesting question. On one hand, I believe "y'all" has become as much of a highly promoted stereotype than a phrase that is actually used a lot. You'll see it in advertising and promotions in the south quite a lot. You don't, I believe, actually hear people in formal public speaking gatherings use it much.

    That being said . . . ''Y'all" makes grammatical sense, even if it's still waiting for official acceptance. It's a true contraction of you and all (as opposed to "ain't", which is not a true contraction of am and not), and it distinguishes the singular "you" from the plural "you", something that is missing in English WRT other languages.

    "Where you at?" is, however, grammatically incorrect.
