Still one of my favorite moments in sports. Never get tired of seeing it.

We were holding on deadline for this, (Sat night) I had printed the color plates with the WS logo on them.
Every pressguy was in the newsroom watching and waiting.
So after Carter went yard, I got so caught up in the moment, trying to write a classic headline, I MOVED the logo. Oops.
Few minutes later, press room calls, says the black plate doesn't match the CMYs.
Had to resend all four plates, adding another 20 minutes.
    Pressguys were not happy.
    Have never done it since.

Oh, I should add (as Rushin points out in his piece), were it not for the Carter home run, the Series would have been remembered for that unbelievable 15-14 Jays win in Philadelphia.

And Schilling comes back the next day to pitch a 2-0 shutout for Phillie.

    It was a helluva series.

    I hate all of you.

But not as much as I hate myself for continuing to check this thread for some inexplicable reason.

The only downside is Joe subsequently became a TV colour guy.

    God, he was beyond horrible.

And Mustard, I'm sorry for your loss.

Oh, and then that dumbass Fregosi comes up here to manage for a year or something.

When you like the Phils, you get used to it. At this point I probably enjoy the suffering -- as evidenced by my inability to stay away from this thread.
