Carter was always regarded a gifted student, not like the unelected president.

Let's get off this crap, guys. Carter was smart. Bush was elected. Get over it.

You could fuck a sheep outside a grade or middle school ... that would probably get your name in the paper.

The peak oilers got a lot of ink in the op-ed page of yesterday's DMN.

Which some people might easily accept. Yet there are plenty of others who feel it was an illegitimately won election and the remainder of his presidency will continue to be a point of contention.

Not saying I agree with them, but it's not a simple matter of "get over it" when some people look at where we're at now compared to eight years ago.

Is this one of them? http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/opinion/viewpoints/stories/DN-krugman_27edi.ART.State.Edition1.462ff66.html

Decent piece, though. Telling numbers in it about Americans and our cars.

I wonder how that column played in Dallas, one of the worst urban sprawl cities in the nation.

The best thing that could happen right now is high oil prices. We need something to drive us to make the decisions necessary to make the transition into a new energy age - whatever that may or may not be. A price fall will only halt innovation and that's something we desperately need.
