Yeah, but if hangs out at the WFM before or after games, it's a great deal.

Oh, no doubt. But trust me when I tell you pallister can't make it through a whole ball game living off the drunk from beers from 5 hours earlier. :D

If the Sox are playing like they have been the past two days, I'll be ready to drink antifreeze.

I bet that goes well with fruit, too.

If I remember correctly, the BKC hall of fame isn't open on Sunday or Monday, so you might want to check on that before you make plans to drive there.

I like Bryants best, but you can't go wrong with Gates or Jack Stack or someother places. They all are better than almost any BBQ you'll get outside of KC. Boulevard Wheat is great, no orange needed. Man, I wished I lived closer to KC.

    P&L district
    Oklahoma Joe's BBQ
    World War I Memorial
    Halls at the Plaza
    Ameristar Casino
If you can sneak in a side trip to Lawrence, go for it.

Cougargirl, I too was going to suggest a trip to Lawrence if time allowed. Allen Fieldhouse has great museum.

But as far as Kansas City goes, if I had just a day, I'd do the following:

    Negro Leagues Museum
    Gates BBQ
    WWI museum
Union Station (that's more the daddy in me but there's some neat stuff there)
Fritz's (a burger joint at Crown Center but don't go during peak meal hours)
    P&L

Jack Stack Barbecue = A-FREAKING-MAZING. Went there last year and there's a Cheesecake Factory right around the area for dessert. I definitely recommend it.

There are a lot of new eateries in the Power and Light district as well.

Best steak I ever had was a prime rib at the Savoy Grill in downtown K.C. It was melt-in-your-mouth good.

You almost can't go wrong eating dead animals in KC. People have strong opinions about their favorite BBQ places (I'm an Arthur Bryant's guy), but the bottom line is they're all freakin' great. What I wouldn't give for a burnt ends sandwich right now ...

If you do go to Lawrence, go ahead and burn the fucker down. Finish what Quantrill started.

    Just kidding. Sort of.

Anyhow, all of the above are great suggestions. Haven't seen the WWI museum yet. The college hoops experience is great fun if you want to toss up a shot or two. Westport is fantastic. Bryant's is the best bbq on this earth, but go ahead and try Gates if you need further confirmation.

Boulevard Wheat is fantastic, with or without lemon. And the newly renovated stadium should be fantastic... I'm hoping to somehow snag a ticket tomorrow and see for myself.

I'd also be remiss if I didn't mention the Legends, out in KCK, next to the speedway. Huge outlet mall type place. There's a Nebraska Furniture Mart as big as Lincoln, and apparently they sell anything. Tons of place to eat.

And while I'm not the outdoorsy-type, there's a Cabela's there with a mule deer display, african safari display, fresh water aquarium, and an arcade-style light shooting gallery. So you can kill an hour in there without buying so much as a pocket knife.

I'll probably get in trouble for outing, but I figured out who DD is:
