  1. My wife is taking a girls weekend in Cincinnati. Any suggestions as to wear to eat? Shop?

Well, you know no one will be talking football this late in the year.

I think Triple D has been there a few times.

    Bakersfield in Over-the-Rhine is fantastic.

Mount Adams, a pavilion party district overlooking the city.
Main Street in Covington, just across the river.

Go on Hotwire, do your homework, and you can get great rates for the Hilton Netherland Plaza. It's the swanky Art Deco building right down town. Go across the river for plenty to do. Eat at the Hofbrauhaus. In the summer, everything is within walking distance. As it is January, there is a trolley/shuttle that will take you to all those places for a couple of bucks.

Your trip will probably be good at the beginning but then you'll just go a little too far.

This. No trip to Cincinnati is complete without Skyline Chili. If there are any rib enthusiasts in the bunch, Montgomery Inn is also solid.

Several years ago I got an unbelievable room rate of $66 a night on Hotwire for the Westin Cincinnati. And this was in late June. No guarantees you'll find anything that good now, but might be worth a shot. Nice, quiet rooms and lots of space to move around inside.

Get off the plane, go to the ticket counter and book a flight to a real city.

Newport Aquarium, the highlight of Newport on the Levee, is pretty nice.

Right across the river (and before you cross the river if you flew into the Cincy International since it is in Kentucky).
