Things that bug sports journalists

With the high school, college and pro seasons about to start again, I was thinking of things that used to irritate me as a sports writer and editor.

    Among my pet peeves:

    • The photographer at a high school football game who fails to get one photograph of the kid who rushed for 300 yards and 4 TDs.
    • Editors who edit mistakes miss steaks into stories.
    • High school coaches who keep you waiting while they talk to the team for 30 minutes after a game, then sprint to the bus as soon as they are done.

Feel free to add yours. ....

Newbie stringers. Can't they go to newbie training camp first?

    Love your first one, Ace.

I'll add: News-siders who ask, "Well, when is the baseball/football/basketball game/NASCAR race going to be over?"

People who get way too excited about high school sports.

News-siders who wander over, stare intently at the TV screen
to convey their sports interest, then say: "Which team is Alabama?"

That's unpossible. All news-siders leave at 5, after high tea and scones. #baron

Newsiders who ask if it's OK to leave off the "State" that you gave them for the college football front page skybox.

"What, I can't just have 'Florida' on there?"

Other sports journalists who don't worship Springsteen and Isbell.
