So, I go to my neighborhood Sonic and get something to munch on.........total was $4.99
I give Sparky the carhop a $10 bill.

I can hear the gears grinding at this point in the proceedings.

She looks at the $10 bill I provided her, and she replies back with......"So........I give you 4 dollars back, right?

I so so so so so so so so so bad wanted to say "You give me 4 dollars, and you keep the remaining $1.01 for yourself so you can go buy A FUCKING CLUE."

    But I didn't.

No, you give me one cent to make five dollars, then you give me five more dollars to make ten, then you give me the ten dollar bill back.

The best is when the cashier has the math done for them by the register, and still screws up.

And then you ask for a lap dance.

Now there's a business idea - would really like to see that at The Varsity. "What'll ya have?!"

Chili dog, lap dance, and some mustard.

She provides the lap dance, you provide the mustard.

Maybe she was trying to pry a $1 tip from your stingy, clenched fist?

Going to Sonic was your first mistake. Dog shit on a bun.

I went through a Dunkin Donuts drive thru and the total was $5.01. I didn't have any change and gave the guy a $10 bill expecting a five back. I got exact change.

You didn't have a penny handy?

Ordinarily yes, but my mid-afternoon snack of a Cherry Limeade and a small order of mozzarella cheese sticks hits the spot.

I don't keep change in my car and this was an early morning errand so I didn't bother to scoop up some change before heading out. I believe the guy at the drive thru gave it no thought. $4.99 came up on the register and that was what he had to give me.

Um, yeah... that's kind of the way it works.
