This was what I posted on last November's "endorsement" thread, but it's worth repeating, with a couple of additions...

My black cat curling up next to me — on my white comforter — while I sleep.

Pepsi.

Shiner Bock (Separately from Pepsi).

The 9:45 p.m. summer sunset in the Pacific Northwest.

Exercising until your knees are weak and your lungs burn.

Brunettes with shimmering brown eyes. And nice legs.

Walking to the grocery store with canvas bags, and walking back with them filled.

The bleachers at Wrigley on a weekday summer afternoon.

The seats on the third level, in the corners, above the goal cages.

Regional accents.

Saturday-Sunday weekends.

The mountains in the distance at the end of my street.

Live music.

Sleeping in hotel rooms.

Any 7th chord.

College football

Seeing kids I know playing in fhe NHL

Ice cold Dr Pepper

Lunch on the balcony at Newport Landing on Balboa Island

Cranking up my iPod

Ribs on the barbie

A basket full of smokin' hot wings with blue cheese on the side

 

Hugging my boys when I get home from work;

Hitting the pull up 3 ptr from the top of the key;

The feeling when you know you absolutely nutted the drive and you have not looked up to see the ball yet;

Getting a little more than the average kiss hello from the missus;

a little "morning" delight when the kids are at school;

when my clients thank me.

 

Damn right.

The moment in a baseball game when the crowd rises ---- and hushes ---- precisely after the ball has been hit, and is destined for the bleachers or an alley

Being in the crowd at that moment

Walking to a football stadium to cover a high school game and catching the first muffled sounds of the drum cadence

Swishing a pull-up 3-pointer on the break (in any pick-up game, anywhere)

Watching the Bears play: live, with my dad, in a hostile stadium

Listening to my (late) dog snore

Running in 95 degrees-or-hotter heat

Drinking water after said runs

Making little kids laugh (and the nonsensical behavior and jibberish this permits one to engage in)

Seeing acts of kindness

(The Pavlovian joy I get when I hear) The opening music to The Office

Standing in the crowd at a hip-hop show, pre-show, with a good DJ

Making a bank shot on the pool table

Solving the NYT Sunday crossword

Reading box scores in the morning

Clean socks

Eye sex

A good sneeze

Chicago accents

The view from the train (don't know which one) when it goes above ground in Brooklyn after leaving Park Slope, bound for the city

Wandering through Powell's or Strand or City Lights for hours

Heckling the first "reach" of my fantasy football league's draft

Listening to baseball on the radio

 

1) Watching The Simpsons, South Park or Futurama with the wife
2) The wife as a whole
3) Listening to the dumb crap my best friend gets into
4) Playing video games until 4 a.m.
5) Watching a good baseball or hockey game
6) My grandmother's red punch (which my wife now holds the secret recipe)
7) Fantasy baseball
8) My huge televisions
9) The anticipation of a good movie or video game (District 9 and Assassins Creed 2 are now getting that anticipation)
10) Knowing that even though I'm almost 30 I will always be a fun-loving kid inside.
