    The fact that this thread -- with a headline sure to draw in concerned journalists, and accompanied by a provocative photo that could potentially elicit great anger around these parts -- has registered more than 400 views but only five replies just shows how beaten down people are.

    Hardly anyone, apparently, even knows what to say about it -- an unusual, and, in my book, very sobering occasion. Especially considering the business we're in.

    It's not a good sign.
