    Ratigan's rants are so over the top now he's moving into O'Reilly/Beck/Olbermann territory in terms of credibility.

    As a follow-up, just because a market-maker's *trading* profits are positive doesn't mean that market-marker is actually profiting. Yes, the trading is profitable, but the privilege of being a market maker isn't free. A fixed fee is paid for such a privilege, and often the volume of trades, even with structural profits, isn't sufficient to offset this overhead.
