    Dungeon Girl
    Airplane Crash
    Katrina Anniversary
    Polygomist Arrested
    JonBonet

Aren't there 5 more pressing problems, in the America and World Wide, that deserve the length and breadth of the coverage these 5 stories are received in the general, mass market media?

News cycle, dude. There's a lot more pressing stuff, just not a lot of new info. Go read "The One Percent Doctrine" (foreign policy) or "Enrique's Journey" (immigration), books that have come out in the last few months that do a good job dealing with the kind of topics you're looking for.

The 24-hour news networks go for splash, not substance.

I can see the plane crash and Katrina. There's the little matter of Ernesto, but that's looking less like a story and more like a good rain for the Eastern Seaboard. And JonBenet's the non-story of the year.

Which polygamist was it? One of them had set up shop in Texas and was on the FBI 10 Most Wanted.

Probably the teenaged girl in Austria that was kidnapped 10 years ago and just rescued.

Some guy in Austria kidnapped a girl about 7-8 years ago and held her captive in his house until she escaped a couple weeks ago. She was 10 when she was kidnapped and 18 when she escaped.

He committed suicide by jumping in front of a tram before he could be apprehended.

Actually, this is a fairly representative list. What should be on there instead?

As Ray Davies once wrote "Give the People What They Want"

Actually, no one gets sick of anti-Bush articles, certainly not in the Times. Frivolous headlines usually mean good news in Iraq, which is consistent with the news I've seen.

LOL - I've read for years here how the standard response to anything Clinton was the blow job. Yet, no matter what the topic here (save perhaps 1980's music videos), the same eight pathetitards manage to integrate Bush into a response. It's quite amazing.
