    On a serious note, when our board crashed for a couple of days last March, it made me realize just how much we do use it to stay in touch. (And how many friends I never collected contact info from, because it was just easier to use PMs ... until the PMs fried with the rest of our hard drive.)

    And that works if you're only on the computer to post.
    Like others, I work, stick my head in, do some more work and so on. Hard to read a book when you're taking a mental break from writing....
