But peanut butter and shellfish cookies definitely don't sell like they used to.

People are forgetting the meaning and intent of the word "gift."

It's a gift. It doesn't matter what it is. As long as it's something appropriate and permissible in the parents' eyes, it shouldn't make any difference what it is, and people should appreciate it.

After all, no one has to get anybody anything.

Put me in as a character. It'll get a whole lot more salacious.

It is a tough time to be a mommy these days.

    Work pressure.

    Social media pressure and comparisons.

Kid pressure and making the honor roll.

Aging parent pressure and when to pull the plug on Mabel.

Indifferent husband pressure and how long do I have to stay with him until the kids won't be affected as much when I leave?

That is what makes travel team soccer the moment of sweet release for a stressed-out mommy.

If she's already got the minivan with the tinted windows, she just needs a no-strings-attached boy toy to make all of those issues dissipate here and there -- and bring the inner vixen, craving to be satisfied, out from the prim and proper facade she has to keep up on Facebook or Instagram.

Turning the parking lot of any suburban soccer palace into a playpen of overflowing and pulsating encounters.

Orange slices for everyone but the mommy will need an extra one.

You let little Ralphie flop around the house in his pink bunny suit?

I always feel bad for the kid in these situations because it's the kid who will indirectly get the backlash

"Social media pressure" is today's hypochondria.

If you suffer from it, it's your own damn fault.

Of course, I never saw Disney World* until I was 49. Somehow, neither me nor my parents felt any shame over this.

    * Yes, as someone posted above, it is grossly overpriced and overrated.
