I knew that staph infections could be nasty but this really brings it home. The photo is chilling.

I can't really tell what part of that guy's body the hole is on but I'll be damned if that doesn't look pornographic.

Don't worry, it's all part of the world's natural cycle...

This is a case, methinks, where a blogger could be a little more sure of himself and throw caution (and qualifiers) to the wind.

Yeah, it turns out that while Kevin Randleman's staph was horrific there are still worse cases again. Don't get me wrong Randleman's is still bad. It's just some of these are insane.

Gack. I'll spend the rest of the day unsuccessfully trying to un-see that.

My dad survived a major staph infection in 2003. Literally when we took him to the ER, all of his organs were shutting down. They think something come in through his toe and it ultimately settled into his knee. He was in the ICU for 3 weeks and when he was admitted to rehab had to re-learn everything....he basically was a quadrapalegic.

Back in December he was admitted for small brain bleeds in his head and had developed another staph infection. They thought he could recover from the brain bleeds, but ultimately the staph infection was just too high of a mountain to climb and he died from it. The amount of antibiotics that they pushed through him both times was unbelievable.

Dude, how do you even think to search for, let alone resurrect, a 2 1/2-year old thread on this?

I started the thread about Kevin Randleman's staph. That shit was crazy. It's not the kind of thing that you forget. Some of the ones on the link I posted today are worse. It seemed as good a place as any to put the post.
