Looks like Freedom will declare bankruptcy this week some time.

Sigh. Good luck to everyone there. I know some folks there. Saw a job opening for a copy editor/designer for the Register. Said the pay was mid to upper $40K. With no relocation expenses. Blew me away.

Freedom is putting up roadblocks in its bankruptcy by declaring a million documents confidential.

Among them: A Dodgers schedule and poetry.

Not encouraging news for Freedom folks. Still know a few guys at a smaller gig in this chain. Looks like they'll need some luck tossed their way in the coming months.

A look at the Hoiles family's exit from the newspaper game:

Disturbing. "True Life?" probably warrants a new thread.

It has been suggested by our editor in order to save money that instead of sports staff covering games, we could have parents who were there submit stories.
I can see it now ....

Billy Jackson, of whom whose dad, grandmother and I are very proud, guided the Fighting Sloths to victory Friday night, rushing for seven yards on three carries in Little Town High's 53-14 win over Smithville.
In a lesser role, little Timmy Jenkins rushed for seven touchdowns.
