    Re: All-purpose, never-ending "Wire" thread

After watching the first three seasons, I asked myself this question: if McNulty and Stringer weren't on opposite sides of the drug conflict (Why didn't I call it a war? Wars end.) and the circumstances were right, does anyone think they'd be friends or something along those lines?

There's a great scene between the two of them in Season Three, at Stringer's print shop. Stringer offers to sell McNulty a condo. And what did McNulty say at the end? "You're taking all the fun out of it?"
    Yes, Phila, they probably would.

BTW, am I the only one a little weirded out to see Stringer starring in some absurdly-wholesome looking romantic comedy that came out last week?

Kima alludes to this in the first episode after Stringer gets shot.

somebody asks here where Jimmy is, and she says he and Bunk are at Stringer's place searching it.

They ask, "How's Jimmy taking it?"

"Like Stringer was his kin," Kima says.

For those who need a fix -- all of Season 4 currently is OnDemand.

Huge Wire fan, no HBO. Alas, haven't seen Season 4. Any idea when it'll be on DVD?

No release date on it yet. That was a tough season to watch. The whole time, you're watching four likeable middle school boys, knowing that they'll end up doing horrible things or horrible things will happen to them.

I can't wait for the final season. How cool is it that the "theme" this year will be the media?

Hopefully the good portrayals will help make up for what should be some very frustrating negative, but true, portrayals.

Partlow... has the frightening look and the silence.

Omar is intimidating, but he also has that smile and a sense of humor. Partlow is colder than ice, and his look is so menacing. The quick & quiet way he goes about his business makes it even more frightening.

Aha, y'all have made the classic blunder.

Omar got a code, and Omar is not a sociopath. He cares for people.

But he's still the baddest fucker around.

Little hoppers don't scatter when Chris walks down the street, yelling, "Partlow comin'."

That's because if you see Chris, it's already too late.
