    With all the cuts/layoffs/buyouts etc, it's good to see positions at bigger papers actually filled rather than just sort of disappearing..

    They made a good hire here. Rainer knows his stuff and will do well.
    He's freelanced for AP, the NY Times and a ton of other folks out of Fayetteville, including me, but my former publication is not on the same level as the NYT.
    I didn't pay as well either.

    Rainer is a great reporter and he's dome some amazing stuff. He'll be great.

    Well, I must have been too old and wanted too much money. God, I need a Manhattan. :)

    Seriously, seriously... congratulations to Rainer. Sounds like he's got some good credentials and I hope he does good work for the VP.
