Interviewed a college coach today who was, it eventually struck me, trying a little too hard to tell me all the big people who he was friends with.

Yeah, HH, I know guys like that. As a matter of fact, I was chatting with John Wooden the other day, mulling over why people these days can't just let their work speak for itself.

My good friend Bob Knight agrees with me. And oh, I gotta go. Dick Vitale is IMing me and he uses ALL CAPS. Irritating, but what are you gonna do?

Oh, damn. I never mailed Calhoun that get-well card.

I'm glad I've never reached the point where I've had to interact with 'that guy'.

I do get the guys who will push their players for postseason awards, but for the most part they don't try to impose this kind of stuff on me.

Ugh. I'm living this world, right now. My new IP has told me 150 times that he as 4,000 HOURS IN A BLACK HAWK, and HOW MUCH MONEY HE AND HIS WIFE MAKE a year in SOUTH ALABAMA. I'm searching for the right time to let him know his student's household income is higher.

I think we've all been "Big Timed" by a coach. Hell, I get it on the high school level where it's more funny in its absurdity than annoying.

And your name didn't come up, oddly enough.
